What is tethering?

Tethering (also called a personal hotspot) lets your phone share its mobile data connection with other devices over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or a USB cable. Your phone acts as a small Wi-Fi router: your laptop or a friend's phone connects to it and uses your eSIM's data — no extra SIM, no extra plan.

Is it really free?

Yes. All our plans include tethering — metered and unlimited alike. The data your other devices use simply counts against your plan's allowance. On “Unlimited” plans the Fair Usage Policy speed tiers apply to the total usage, tethered or not.

How to turn it on

iPhone (iOS)

1. Make sure your eSIM Trading plan is active and selected for Cellular Data (Settings → Cellular).
2. Go to Settings → Personal Hotspot and enable Allow Others to Join.
3. If Personal Hotspot doesn't appear, open Settings → Cellular → your eSIM → Cellular Data Network and scroll to the Personal Hotspot APN — it should match the APN of the plan (set automatically on our eSIMs).
4. On the other device, join the Wi-Fi network named after your iPhone using the password shown on the hotspot screen.

Android

1. Make sure the eSIM is active for mobile data (Settings → Network & internet → SIMs).
2. Go to Settings → Network & internet → Hotspot & tethering → Wi-Fi hotspot (names vary slightly by brand) and switch it on.
3. Set a network name and password, then connect the other device to that Wi-Fi network.

Good to know

• Battery: running a hotspot drains the phone faster — plug in for long sessions.
• Speed: all connected devices share one connection; video calls on two laptops at once will feel it.
• Unlimited plans: tethering is fine for normal travel use; using the eSIM as a permanent home/office connection is not allowed under the Fair Usage Policy.
• Buying for someone else? Order normally and forward them the QR code and install instructions in one tap — the eSIM works on whichever compatible device installs it first.
